Throughout my education in Technical Theatre/Design, I learned the foundations of the theatrical production process in painting, lighting, and carpentry. My interest in numerous areas of technical theatre gave me the chance to absorb as much experience as possible, and I created an understanding in the fundamentals of scenic painting during my time at Lindenwood such as multi-step processes, like wood grain, marble, and complex muraling, and I learned the standard equipment utilized by union scenic artists.
I also grew an understanding about basic programming, drafting, and lighting design for various types of performance art such as dance, musical theatre, and straight plays.
I still use all the practices I've learned in my undergrad to this day, and the foundations of my theatrical education has given me the ability to tackle any design with a confident plan leading to successful results.
